Many thanks for taking the time to complete this survey. I look forward to receiving your thoughts, which are important in helping to shape the on-going work and priorities of both myself and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) for Humberside.

My role is to hold Humberside Police to account and taking lessons from the public's experiences of crime and their confidence in policing helps me to ensure the force provide an effective and efficient service.

As well as your priorities for crime reduction, perceptions of crime and confidence in policing, I am keen to hear how aware you are of the work of the (OPCC) along with your thoughts on government proposals for police reforms and governance.

The main survey should take no more than ten minutes to complete. The survey software will automatically skip questions that do not apply to you, based on the answers you give. None of the questions in the survey are mandatory, so you do not have to answer every one but I would appreciate you providing responses where possible.

Anyone who has been a victim of crime can find details of support services available to you on our website by clicking HERE and our Affected By Crime website by clicking HERE.

Do not use this survey to report a crime. Instead please call 101 or dial 999 in case of emergency.

As you have elected NOT to register your details, we will not request any contact information from you. Although this section is optional, please consider providing your postcode and some demographic information to assist us with understanding the needs and views of our different communities across the Humber region.

Section 1: Setting the Police and Crime Plan priorities

The views of the public have been critical in shaping the objectives of my Police and Crime Plan. This section asks you to select your top five priorities - the outcomes of which will be compared against the results of the previous surveys we have carried out. Any changes in priorities, or new themes identified, will be considered for inclusion in our on-going work.

Q1: Of the types of crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB) listed below, please select up to five top priorities you wish to see Humberside Police and other agencies tackle in your local area.
Please select a minimum of 0, and a maximum of 5.

Section 2: Changes to Police Governance

In November 2025, the government took the decision to abolish the role of Police and Crime Commissioner in 2028. The responsibility of holding police forces to account will then be transferred to either a mayoral authority or a local policing board.

This section asks if you are in favour of these changes and what solution you prefer for the Humber region.

All questions in this section are optional but I would value your views on the potential impact these changes have on policing in our region.

Section 3: Police Reform

In January 2026, the government announced proposed changes to policing in a white paper titled ‘From local to national: a new model of policing.’ This paper outlined plans to reduce the number of police forces through merging to increase efficiencies and reduce costs. The paper also proposed the creation of a National Police Service to fight the most complex and serious crimes by bringing together the capabilities of the National Crime Agency, Counter Terrorism, Regional Organised Crime Unit and National Police Air Service under a single organisation.

This section asks for your views on these proposals.

Once again, all questions in this section are optional but I would value your views on the potential impact these changes have on policing in our region.
